Like someone once said:
"The question that we all want to ask is: Who are you? I have never heard of you, nobody in Europe has ever heard of you."
After a long peroid of 'darkness' we feel the need of shedding some light on who NSCT is and where we stand and strive for.
Multiple erroneous team names are circulating of which 'the Nameless Swedish Cycling Team' seems to be the most persistent one. We hereby inform you that our official team name is "the Nelen's Swedish Cycling Team". Nelen is the founders family name. This name originates from the North of Belgium. As Belgium cycling fans who moved to Sweden they decided to establish a Swedish cycling team.
The vision of NSCT is to make Scandinavia, and in particular Sweden, one of the most successful regions in the world of competitive cycling. Accompanied by this we want the world, and in particular the Scandinavian region, to become more cycling minded. In the later case not only competitive cycling but also recreational cycling and the use of bicycles for transportation are targeted.
To approach this vision NSCT has stated multiple goals.
- NSCT will train young promising Swedish riders and guide them further along their competitive cycling career.
- NSCT will actively promote recreational cycling and the use of bicycles for transportation throughout Scandinavia.
This will be done by mainly supporting the construction of bicycle paths and other actions that benefit the safety of the cyclist.
- NSCT strives to grow the global awareness of the positive effects of cycling on both human health and the environment.
To conclude, only one sentence seems appropriate to end this brief presentation.
